You can eat from the floor
You can relax—no one actually intends to eat off the floor. This is just a way to emphasize that the place, and particularly the floor, is exceptionally clean.
אֶפְשָׁר לְהֵרָגֵעַ, אַף אֶחָד לֹא מִתְכַּוֵּן לֶאֱכוֹל מֵהָרִצְפָּה. זוֹ רַק דֶּרֶךְ לְהַגִּיד שֶׁהַמָּקוֹם בְּאוֹפֶן כְּלָלִי וְהָרִצְפָּה בִּמְיוּחָד נְקִיִּים מְאוֹד.
Think for a moment about places like museums or the lobby of a new building or hotel. In these places, great care is taken to keep the floors immaculate, providing visitors with a sense of cleanliness. When entering these spaces, you might feel as though you could eat off the floor.
חִשְׁבוּ רֶגַע עַל מְקוֹמוֹת כְּמוֹ מוּזֵאוֹנִים אוֹ מְבוֹאָה (לוֹבִּי) שֶׁל בִּנְיָן חָדָשׁ אוֹ בֵּית מָלוֹן. בַּמְּקוֹמוֹת הָאֵלֶּה מַקְפִּידִים מְאוֹד עַל נִקְיוֹן הָרִצְפָּה כְּדֵי לָתֵת לַאֲנָשִׁים שֶׁבָּאִים תְּחוּשָׁה שֶׁל נִקָּיוֹן. כְּשֶׁנִּכְנָסִים לַמְּקוֹמוֹת הָאֵלֶּה יֵשׁ תְּחוּשָׁה שֶׁאֶפְשָׁר לֶאֱכוֹל מֵהָרִצְפָּה.
The same applies to a pharmacy. Every time you step into a pharmacy, the pleasant scents and sparkling clean floors create a strong impression of hygiene, which is important for customers coming to purchase medicines.
כָּךְ גַּם בְּבֵית מִרְקַחַת. תָּמִיד כְּשֶׁנִּכְנָסִים לְבֵית מִרְקַחַת, הָרֵיחוֹת כָּל כָּךְ נְעִימִים וְהָרִצְפָּה כָּל כָּךְ מַבְרִיקָה וּנְקִיָּה, כִּי זֶה מְאוֹד חָשׁוּב לָתֵת אֶת הַתְּחוּשָׁה הַזֹּאת שֶׁל נִקָּיוֹן לַאֲנָשִׁים שֶׁבָּאִים לִקְנוֹת תְּרוּפוֹת.
I know someone who is incredibly clean. She cleans her house every day. Her home is so spotless that one might say you could eat off her floor!
אֲנִי מַכִּירָה אִישָּׁה כָּל כָּךְ נְקִיָּה. הִיא מְנַקָּה אֶת הַבַּיִת כָּל יוֹם. כָּל כָּךְ נָקִי אֶצְלָהּ בַּבַּיִת שֶׁאֶפְשָׁר לֶאֱכוֹל מֵהָרִצְפָּה.
