Lower the flag to half-mast
The flag is a symbol of a group and holds great significance for its members.
הַדֶּגֶל הוּא סֵמֶל שֶׁל קְבוּצָה וְיֵשׁ לוֹ חֲשִׁיבוּת רַבָּה לְחַבְרֵי הַקְּבוּצָה הַזֹּאת.
The TOREN is the pole on which the flag is hoisted, and we aim for this pole to be as high as possible so that our flag can be seen from the greatest distance.
הַתּוֹרֶן הוּא הָעַמּוּד שֶׁעָלָיו תָּלוּי הַדֶּגֶל וַאֲנַחְנוּ נִרְצֶה שֶׁהָעַמּוּד הַזֶּה יִהְיֶה גָּבוֹהַּ כְּכָל הָאֶפְשָׁר כְּדֵי שֶׁהַדֶּגֶל שֶׁלָּנוּ יֵרָאֶה לְמֶרְחָק רַב כְּכָל הָאֶפְשָׁר.
Lowering the flag to half-mast is also a symbol—a symbol of mourning.
אָז גַּם לְהוֹרִיד אֶת הַדֶּגֶל לַחֲצִי הַתּוֹרֶן זֶה סֵמֶל. סֵמֶל לְאֵבֶל.
We customarily lower the flag to half-mast on Memorial Day and other days of mourning to visibly show our grief and remember those who have fallen or in whose honor this day of mourning is observed.
אֲנַחְנוּ נוֹהֲגִים לְהוֹרִיד אֶת הַדֶּגֶל לַחֲצִי הַתּוֹרֶן בְּיוֹם הַזִּכָּרוֹן וּבִימֵי אֵבֶל שׁוֹנִים כְּדֵי לְהַרְאוֹת לְכוּלָּם שֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ אֲבֵלִים וְזוֹכְרִים אֶת הַנּוֹפְלִים וְאֵלֶּה שֶׁלִּכְבוֹדָם אֲנַחְנוּ מְצַיְּנִים אֶת יוֹם הָאֵבֶל הַזֶּה.
