To steal
Already in the Ten Commandments, we are commanded not to steal. We do not want to live in a society where people regularly steal from one another.
כְּבָר בַּעֲשֶׂרֶת הַדִּבְּרוֹת מְצוּוֶה עָלֵינוּ לֹא לִגְנוֹב. אֲנַחְנוּ לֹא רוֹצִים לִחְיוֹת בְּחֶבְרָה שֶׁבָּהּ אֲנָשִׁים נוֹהֲגִים לִגְנוֹב אֶחָד מֵהַשֵּׁנִי.
The infinitive "to steal" can be used in physical contexts, such as: stealing cars, stealing various goods from stores, or stealing information.
אֶפְשָׁר לְהִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ בְּשֵׁם הַפֹּעַל לִגְנוֹב בְּהֶקְשֵׁרִים פִיזִיִּים לְמָשָׁל: לִגְנוֹב מְכוֹנִיּוֹת, לִגְנוֹב כָּל מִינֵי דְּבָרִים מֵחֲנוּיוֹת, אוֹ לִגְנוֹב מֵידָע.
We can also use this infinitive in a metaphorical sense, such as "to steal attention."
אֲבָל אֶפְשָׁר לְהִשְׁתַּמֵּשׁ בְּשֵׁם הַפֹּעַל הַזֶּה גַּם בְּמַשְׁמָעוּת מֵטָאפוֹרִית לְמָשָׁל: לִגְנוֹב אֶת תְּשׂוּמֶת הַלֵּב.
In general, the infinitive "to steal" carries negative connotations, but pay attention to this situation: If, for example, I am at a party and want to speak with Yossi (just a random name), but Yossi is talking to Itzik (another random name), I might say to Itzik: "Can I steal Yossi for a few minutes?"
בְּדֶרֶךְ כְּלָל לְשֵׁם הַפֹּעַל 'לִגְנוֹב' יֵשׁ מַשְׁמָעוּיוֹת שְׁלִילִיּוֹת, אֲבָל שִׂימוּ לֵב לַסִּיפּוּר הַבָּא: אִם, לְמָשָׁל, אֲנִי בִּמְסִיבָּה וַאֲנִי רוֹצָה לְדַבֵּר עִם יוֹסִי (סְתָם שֵׁם), אֲבָל יוֹסִי נִמְצָא בְּשִׂיחָה עִם אִיצִיק (עוֹד סְתָם שֵׁם), אָז אֲנ ִי אַגִּיד לְאִיצִיק: "אֲנִי יְכוֹלָה לִגְנוֹב אֶת יוֹסִי לְכַמָּה דַּקּוֹת"?

1. A few years ago, when I was at the Central Bus Station in Jerusalem, someone managed to steal my phone from my backpack.

3. She always knows how to steal the attention of everyone around her, thanks to her natural charisma and her ability to say precisely the right words.
3. הִיא תָּמִיד יוֹדַעַת אֵיךְ לִגְנוֹב אֶת תְּשׂוּמֶת הַלֵּב שֶׁל כָּל מִי שֶׁסְּבִיבָהּ, בִּזְכוּת הַכָּרִיזְמָה הַטִּבְעִית שֶׁלָּהּ וְהַיְּכוֹלֶת שֶׁלָּהּ לְהַגִּיד בְּדִיּוּק אֶת הַמִּילִּים הַנְּכוֹנוֹת.
4. Even during the busiest periods in life, you must steal a few quiet minutes for yourself.
