We have both desktop computers and laptop computers. A desktop computer is a large device that stays at home and can’t be moved easily, while a laptop is a computer we can fold and carry with us anywhere—like a mobile phone.
Today, most people use laptops, and desktop computers are gradually disappearing from the world.

הַמַּחְשׁ ֵב הַנַּיָיח הוּא מַחְשֵׁב שֶׁהַ"קּוּפְסָא" שֶׁלּוֹ גְּדוֹלָה וְיוֹשֶׁבֶת בַּבַּיִת וְאִי אֶפְשָׁר לְהָזִיז אוֹתוֹ, וְהַמַּחְשֵׁב הַנַּיָיד הוּא מַחְשֵׁב שֶׁאֲנַחְנוּ יְכוֹלִים לְקַפֵּל וְלָקַחַת אִיתָּנוּ לְכָל מָקוֹם, כְּמוֹ טֶלֶפוֹן נַיָיד.

A few years ago, the Israeli government launched a project called “A Computer for Every Child,” meaning that every child would have access to a computer. It wasn’t a very successful project. My children received computers from school, but if the computers broke down, there was no one to fix them. But my kids are already grown and finished school a few years ago—maybe the situation is better now.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the computer became the most important communication tool, and many people’s businesses were saved thanks to it. Entrepreneurs began selling their products or offering their services online, and that allowed them to keep working from home.
